MOHAMED KANTE

Mohamed Kante is the Founder and CEO of iNERDE Inc. A social enterprise that develops and disseminates STEM education curriculum across various African nations. Starting his career as an electrical engineer then a Technical Program Manager at DELL Technologies, he leveraged his extensive network of researchers and engineers to bring his vision of empowering the African youth to live.
NERDE Inc. was founded on the fundamental belief that access to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education can create incredible possibilities for children. Established as a US-based social enterprise with 501 (c)(3) status since 2014, iNERDE Inc. intends to fill an existing gap – the gap between the skills needed to succeed in the modern world and the skills being taught in most schools in Africa. We address Africa's pressing need for effective STEAM education through two platforms:
* Curriculum development and dissemination
* Professional development (PD) for teachers and educators.

Over the years, iNERDE developed a rigorous curriculum that provides a transformative learning experience for K-12 students and teachers across Africa. Through programs like Decouverte, Exploration and CodeNERDE plus, students get immersed in hands-on STEAM activities and projects that nurture and develop 21st-century skills such as communication, collaboration, critical and creative thinking. Also, we provide teachers/educators with the training, resources, and support they need to not only re-envision their role and effectively prepare students for their future.

Additionally, among iNERDE’s many successes, we built and trained with local collaborators, the first Malian robotic team AKA “TEAM MALI” to participate in FIRST Global’s international robotics competition held in Washington DC in 2017. “TEAM MALI” was awarded a silver medal for Engineering Design

Mohamed has been recognized by FORTUNE.COM as a “hero of the FORTUNE 500” for having performed remarkable acts of goodness. In addition, he has received multiple awards from various institutions across North America and West Africa, as well as citations from the State of Massachusetts. Mohamed is an esteemed keynote speaker for colleges and universities, as well as a mentor to several student-led ventures. While his mission to inspire others has taken him around the world, Mohamed is proud to call Boston his home and We at AFRIFAMUACAA are proud to celebrate him.
