LAMINE GUIRASSY

Born in Lower Guinea, Lamine was born to a merchant father and a household mother from the family of Guirassy Kounda de Boké. After studying at Yimbaya high school in Conakry, he continued his graduate studies at the Montpellier high school of journalism in France.

A graduate of the Montpellier France Graduate School of Journalism, Lamine Guirassy chooses to work as a journalist in France, the Antilles, Guadeloupe, and to lend a hand to RTG.

A promise was made to his paternal grandmother Hadja Daloba Fofana, the journalist who set up the Hadafo media group in honor of his grandmother in 2008. Already in 2007, it gradually launched its radios, notably Espace FM (2008), Sweet FM (2010), Kalac Radio (2019), and Espace TV, Kalac TV.

In 2011, according to a list published in the magazine New Afrique in its June issue, he was ranked among the 100 most influential Africans in the media category.

Lamine Guirassy was also the winner of the award for best African journalist of the year in 2017.

He is a Fervent host of the program Les grandes gueules the most listened to in Guinea with more than 5,000,000 listeners.

“Never has a show disturbed so much, never has a show been loved and criticized so much like the GGs. To host such a show like this one, you must be bold, be neutral. Not having friends to avoid falling into the traps. It's complicated at first. A lot of criticism has been involved. To question a minister, to criticize a regime, were really sacrileges in a country like Guinea. "

Through his courageous Journalistic skills, Lamine has won many awards for standing up for true journalism and defending the rights of the masses.

2017: 100 personalities from New African magazine, having marked the year.

2018: Second most influential person in West Africa

2019: African Economic Intelligence Prize in Dakar CAVIE 2019.

2020: Best Private Press Patron of French-speaking West Africa

2021: Media man 2020 during the first editions of the Media Awards Guinea.

In 2022, The Award Committee of the African Community Achievement Award is glad to celebrate Lamine for bravery and upright journalism in Africa.
