Fode Kouyaté is known for his songs addressing popular issues of Guinean life. He has been actively involved in the cause of refugee camps in the past years in his country. His Consciousness awakening lyrics and constant production of positive albums led to his nomination of honorary ambassador of Afrique-Aide-Afrique by the Former Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade.

In Guinea, he is known and seen as one of the biggest contemporary singers of his time.

He is very popular and well known outside of Guinea and Africa. Last year, He performed at the African Fashion and Music Festival night but this year, African Community Achievement Award will be celebrating him as an African Music legend from Guinea to the world.
