ALPHA G Timbo

Alpha G Timbo, born and raised in Sierra Leone, completed high school back home. Migrated to the United States in the 80’s, attended Southern University Baton Rouge with a bachelor’s degree in political science and later received a double master’s degree in International Relations, Comparative Political Systems, and Public Policy from California State University Los Angeles and a master’s in social work from UCLA and later becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Alpha is a community activist and to be perfectly described as “a community social worker” supporting immigrant populations ranging from individuals, children and families to be able to navigate complex process of adapting and progressing in the United States. He is the President of the Sierra Leone Muslim Association, a chairman of Old Boys Association of Southern California and a member of Our Peoples Congress in California. In his professional capacity, he is a Clinical Director of the Personal Involvement Center and the African Communities Public Health Coalition respectively. His focus at this time is to support and help people of African descent in the diaspora in areas of mental health, immigration services and many other social service needs including spiritual needs in conjunction with Al Salam Masjid located in South Los Angeles.

Alpha is a passionate leader who enjoys helping others in the community to grow and make life easier and better for families in the diaspora. We are proud to celebrate this mental health advocate who devotes his time to working and educating our communities about Mental health at a time when mental health is so much needed.
