Abdul Sesay

ABDUL SESAY, Founder of GIVE BACK to the CHILDREN PROJECT, was a refugee from the 10 years war in Sierra Leone whose incredible journey took him from professional soccer player to American College Graduate. In his current position as a youth Soccer coach and a Technology Coordinator at Palos Verdes District School in Palos Verdes Estates, CA,
Abdul decided he wanted to “GIVE BACK” to the children of Sierra Leone whose avenues for education have been severely limited. In many classrooms, 3 students must share a single pen. For Abdul, the goal of GBCP is to ship a container every year filled with computer equipment, school supplies, clothes, and sports equipment.
To date, the Foundation has established a free computer center in the town of Wellington and has sent a 40-foot container of supplies. The war left 1200 primary schools destroyed and more than 300,000 children orphaned.
Abdul goals with his organization are to providing modern educational access to youth in underserved regions, bridging the Digital Divide. Without computers, the Internet or the skills to use them, the youth here are largely disconnected from the rest of the world; and in the era of globalization, this is a recipe for failure
